we got our hands on the long-delayed & hotly-awaited new album from swedish indie-pop trio the radio dept. the other day, and it’s unreal – labrador calls “clinging to a scheme” the most anticipated record in the history of its label, & with good reason: it’s absolutely bomb. david, the lead single, has been out & about for a while, but the album officially drops in a few months, on april 21st.  with outut any doubt at all, we’ll be posting about this album again soon, but for now check out david, as well as one of our favorite tunes from the album, never follow suit – these guys nail the pop/fuzz ratio like no one else we’ve heard, & we’re psyched for you to hear more!!

check it – dan snaith aka canadian electro-dude caribou is set to drop a brand new album “swim,” the follow-up to 2008’s much acclaimed “andorrra,” in april, & below you can check out the new album’s lead track, odessa (or download HERE).  honestly, we really weren’t feeling the song when we first got a hold of it last week, but the more we’ve listen to it, the more we like it – there’s something strikingly erlend-øye-esque about the vocals, soft and almost purring, & the cacophony of owl hoots & the handfuls of jive piano are oddly danceable.  grab the new track below, & in addition, check out the awesome melody day off “andorrra.”

irish trio two door cinema club are gearing up to drop their hotly anticipated debut album “tourist history” next month, on march 1st.  the trio was named on bbc’s longlist for “sound of 2010” & have been working w/ eliot james (who’s produced for bloc party & kasier chiefs), & they’ve got a pretty neat sound: largely rock, but also definitely danceable, they’ve got a bit of  a bloc-party-aesthetic, a handful of vampire-weekend-riffs, & thomas-mars-esque vocals.  the album is incredibly solid – some of our favorite moments are the quieter ones, like on this is the life & do you want it all, & we hope their are more introspective moments to come from these guys.  you can check out the video for the album’s lead single, undercover martyn, HERE – & stay tuned: these guys are going places!
