Snoopy Would Dig It: Familjen and other foreign techno
So we’ve had this song in our library for a while (it was pretty popular on blogs last year) but we never really got into it. However, it started playing the other day when we were listening to our music on shuffle , and it was like we were hearing the song for the first time. Now, we can’t get enough of it! It’s called Det snurrar i min skalle which, according to Swedish Translation Online, means “the spinning in my skull.” It’s kind of hypnotizing!
Also check out the video for the song below, directed by Johan Söderberg (we say that like we know who that is… we don’t!) We guess Johan found some old religious footage, did his thang to it, and came up with this. We love the convulsing fat girl at like 1:15 into the clip; she really blurs the line between having a seizure and breaking it down!!
Stumbling across this great Swedish techno reminded us of the few other foreign techno songs that we English speakers adopt as anthems to feel “cultured”.
- Dragoste a Din Tei- O-Zone
- Dota- Basshunter
- Levas Polka (Basshunter Remix)- Loituma
- Anima Libera- DJ Raaban
- Heut Ist Mein Tag- Blumchen
Oh gosh. It’s a big overwhelming, isn’t it?
