Linus’ Blue Blanket: Twentyseven Records
Sorry we haven’t updated too much this past week… we’ve hoped you’ve missed us!! Here are two bands we’ve been liking a lot lately, and they both come from record label Twentyseven Records. The first is Swedish pop band Acid House Kings. Our favorite song from them is Do What You Wanna Do; the lead male singer’s vocals really makes thissong, light and airy, almost distant, and dreamy. It’s a really wonderful song, one of our favorites of the moment in fact. Note: Acid House Kings look mad creepy in one of the only promotional pictures we could find of them (above), but don’t judge them from that!!
Another band we’ve been liking is This Is Ivy League. We got pretty good feedback when we posted their fantastic cover of Arcade Fire’s Crown of Love on Charlie’s Valentine’s Day playlist, and they have some other really great music too. They make quiet, nice pop music; they sound awfully like Kings of Convenience (a good thing!), and like their label mates Acid House Kings. Check out London Bridge, their first single, below, and A Summer Chill, both from a demo. They have a self-titled debut album coming out on April 1st, so watch for that.
