Linus’ Blue Blanket: First Aid Kit
We’re not sure why we haven’t mentioned these lovely ladies before, but we’re making it all better now! Hailing from Sweden (ahhh, Sweden!) First Aid Kid crafts absolutely beautiful, lush forest folk: sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg have two absolutely sublime voices, sounding almost heavenly in harmony. Their 7-track debut EP “Drunken Trees” is spare and simple, just their voices and a guitar, and comes highly recommended from us. Check out their amazing cover of Fleet Foxes’ Tiger Mountain Pleasant Song (we actually think we like their version better!!), the beautifully rambling You’re Not Coming Home Tonight off “Drunken Trees,” and a fantastic rendition of Blue Christmas…it’s never to early for Christmas music!

I love this band. What’s funny is that I’ve been following their progress since their first Fleet Foxes cover until now. I am portuguese and this band isn’t known here. It’s a pitty. Really good music, great lyrics and lovely girls.
