Sally’s Alley: Pixie Lott + Use Somebody cover

Above: “I have bed-head, and am therefore a lil’ quirky, but I also have a killer set of pipes.”
We’re not quite sure why we haven’t posted about Pixie Lott before because she is right up our (& Sally’s!) alley, but file this under soulful UK songstresses next to Duffy, Adele, Amy, etc. Her debut single Mama Do (Uh Oh Uh Oh) blew up in the UK (it peaked at #1) and her second single, Boys and Girls, did quite well, too (also peaked at #1!). Her debut album “Turn It Up” dropped a few weeks ago on Mercury Records (she’s got the same label as Duffy), and we’re eagerly anticipating giving it a few spins!
Check out a killer acoustic cover of her fantastic debut single Mama Do (it’s in black and white, and consequently quite good) and a killer cover of King of Leon’s Use Somebody, which in our book is significantly more listenable than the original!
PS. She once stared in a West End production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and is therefore immediately a winner in our book!
