“The Swelly Express” from Chiddy Bang
Check it!!! It’s the debut mixtape from some of the coolest kids around, Chiddy Bang! With some of the freshest sounds we’ve heard in a long time, “The Swelly Express” tells the story of Chidera Anamege & Xaphoon Jones, two kids from Philly, and “their many boring trips on the Chinatown bus (they have wifi now!) on the way to meet ‘big wigs’ in NYC.” The samples on the mixtape are all over the place and completely insane – from Mary Poppins, to Sufjan Stevens, Yelle, Passion Pit, Joe Strummer and the Mescarleros, MGMT, Belle & Sebastian – it’s fucking amazing. It’s hip-hop like we’ve never heard – the production level on these tracks is insane, genre-bending, and Anamege has one of the sickest flows ever with some of the sharpest witticisms – we can’t get enough.

They are only on iTunes in the UK store. As far as a link that works, I’ve scoured the internet and cannot find one. You could check out The Xaphoon Jones mixtape, though. He’s one half of Chiddy Bang.
