linus’ favorite songs of 2009

above: buy, buy, & buy.

check it – below are linus’ 20 favorite tunes of the 2009, which also more-or-less correspond to a lot of our favorite albums of the year:  bibio‘s fantastic “ambivalence avenue” had one of our ’09 jams, the infinitely beautiful lovers’ carvings; three of the biggest hitters around, phoenix, animal collective, & grizzly bear, all put out magnum opuses (opi?) of sorts; m. ward‘s vastly underrated “hold time” showcased a pair of pipes to rival zooey’s; st. vincent blew our minds with her fairy-tale arrangements & utterly luscious chords on “actor”; neko case released her most solid solo effort to date, her folk masterpiece “middle cyclone”; the xx & their hypnotic debut were a blip on ever hipsters radar, for good reason; dent may ukuleled his way into our hearts w/ his quirky charm; dangermouse & sparklehorse crafted one of the year’s best album’s, without the album technically ever seeing the light of day; &  much much more!

catch em all below – they’re ordered very generally by our favorite!

tomorrow: sally’s favorite songs of 2009!
