hello nicki! the Queens native is here to single-handedly breath some fresh air into the recently floundering female rap scene: she’s got an incredibly interesting sound, bizarre in her deep, almost guttural growls (a bit like lil kim w/ a little rihanna & kelis), & she’s been popping up all over the place as a feature on everyone’s record (lil wayne, usher, robin thicke, keri hilson, etc). she dropped a brand new mixtape yesterday, “barbie world” (download HERE), & below you can catch some of our favorite tracks off “barbie world.” she’s slated to drop a debut album at the end of the year, so keep your eyes out!
